Documentary Film - The Culture of Craft

I wanted to share a unique endeavor I read on the Sunday Afternoon Housewife's site.  Martha is embarking on an incredible handmade journey. She is making a documentary film about the 'Culture of Craft'. It all came about reflecting on  her previous adventures attending craft shows all over the country last year.  This led to wanting to attend a crafting conference.  She leaned toward Summit of Awesome.  Then more conferences tempted her as well like The Midwest Craft Caucus… the School House Craft conference  What to do? What to do?  Go to all three, see the country, video her experiences on the road, at the conferences and all the other crafty people she meets.  I think this is a fabulous idea and I have great hopes that one of the big Indie shop fronts or organizations get wind of this. I think it could do wonders for the handmade community. I can imagine this documentary on HGTV, TLC, or any other cable network!
Learn more about her endeavor on her website. She's even set up a donation widget if you can share. But most of all share this information...tweet it, share on Facebook, blog about it. Get this exciting project seen and heard. It could be any one of us.

If you're planning on attending any of the conferences, please connect with Martha.

  1. Sarah, thank you so much for writing about my project and helping to spread the word! It means so much to me to hear that others also see value in my idea. I am full of gratitude for your help in spreading the word!

  2. You're welcome Martha! Good luck.

  3. I think it's a great idea, too! It would be really interesting to see documentation of craft shows from all over the country. It's something I would watch on tv!

    Thanks for sharing this, Sarah!

  4. Thank you for stopping by Primal Painter!
