Facebook Eliminating Discussions Tab

I just learned Facebook will be removing page owner's Discussion Tab October 31st.  Apparently, Facebook has started to notify page owners, but I have yet to be notified and found out from a Group I belong to.   I wanted to share this with my readers, as I know many of you have discussion tabs with valuable information.  I know I for one, have 5 discussions full of Link Love.  I haven't figured out what I'm going to do.  At the time of this posting, I cannot find any information about an export tool.  So all discussions have to be copied and pasted if you want to save this information.

  1. I have been moving my discussions to editable notes. This way people can add their information or add to discussions in the same way the discussion boards operated, just with a little more difficulty. It's sad, though, that Facebook is once again deciding what we need and what we don't without once ever consulting their customer base!

  2. That's an idea. I'll check that out. I know! I guess they think it'll encourage discussions on walls instead. I think that's annoying.

  3. I never really used the discussions tab. I use the notes tab instead.

  5. Here is an easier alternative:

There is this new Forum app at https://www.facebook.com/202980683107053

It lets you install a new Discussions tab to your Facebook page and also allows you to import all your existing discussions so you don't lose them.
