Google Friend Connect Disappearing March 2012

Google + I think will be around awhile as it gains momentum and users figure out how best to utilize it. Even I am still learning. The feature I like best is the Circles. Segmenting is just perfect for marketing. You can choose what Circles to share certain information with.
If you're interested in learning more about Google +, let me know and I'll be happy to write up a post about it. Theory, explanations, and examples of how to use it.
Keep your eyes open and start +1 as you come across the button.

I am trying to understand how to do this? I am not sure if I am doing this right or not. I can't even find the directional link page to add this ...
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome information :)
Yes, post more about this -- I'm not getting it. You mean, the follower box gadget won't be available? I really rely on that to see how many followers I have. We won't have that any more? You won't be able to "follow" on an actual blogger.com site like ours?
ReplyDeleteBaby Huggables - I'll start a Google + blog series and start from the beginning and work up from there. I'll explain the marketing benefits, how to set up, then how to use it!
ReplyDeleteBut yes, it's another social media outlet, but it has more power because the +1 will help with search engines determine what content out there is liked more than others. I have a feeling it will start to change how Internet search is done, but for the better.
Sandra - the GFC is going away from Non-Blogger sites. If you use blogger, you're fine. In all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised if down the road, it goes away. From what I can tell, Google is going to start using +1 to start playing a major factor in Google search. I'll write about it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. My daughters usually are the ones who keep me posted on these kind of things. Thanks also for visiting the Virtual Craft Show and commneting on my pencil.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Norma. Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteSaw your blog in the Facebook group and am now a follower. This is a very informative article. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you Red Rose! I'm following you now.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't see the point of Google Plus before this. I had no idea it was going to affect Google searches. Thanks so much for this info!
ReplyDeleteYea, I'll write up some more about it. We're all still learning about it for sure. Thanks for stopping by Marian.
ReplyDeleteI added the G+ button to my e-zine Art-Online. I already had one in my primary art studio. I couldn't manage to get the badge to work. I don't understand its purpose, unless it's just decorative. And I don't understand the url for my G+ page. It doesn't include my name, just a letter and a number. That can't be right, can it? P.S. Thanks for your comment in Art-Online. It's wonderful to have someone you can count on.
ReplyDeleteThat is a problem with +, no vanity URLs. Which is a big complaint from marketers. There are URL shortners for them.
ReplyDeleteI'll look into the badge issue this weekend and get back to you.
You're welcome for the comment!
Thanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome Joni!
